The Utah Sandbox is a regulatory pilot project and experiment launched by the Utah Supreme Court to increase access to legal services in Utah. 

The Utah Sandbox is a regulatory pilot project and experiment launched by the Utah Supreme Court to increase access to legal services in Utah.  Please fill out this form if you have received legal help in Utah from a company or organization listed below:
  • 1Law
  • Community Justic Advocates of Utah (CJAU)
  • Elysium Legal
  • Pearson Butler
  • Rasa Legal
  • Superlegal/Lawgeex
  • Utah State University Transforming Communities Institute (USU TCI) 

Through the Sandbox, these companies and organizations have received limited authorization from the Utah Supreme Court to provide certain legal services by nonlawyers and/or through technology-based services such as AI.  These are not traditional legal providers.  Some of these companies have also been allowed to have non-lawyer ownership and/or to share fees with nonlawyers.  

Information submitted to the Utah State Bar through this form may be shared with the Utah Supreme Court and the Utah Supreme Court’s Legal Services Innovation Committee. Aggregate/summarized information may also be pulled from responses for public reporting.
