Law Day 2025
What is Law Day?
Law Day, held annually on May 1, is a national day set aside to celebrate the rule of law. Law Day underscores how law and the legal process contribute to the freedoms that all Americans share. Law Day also provides an opportunity to recognize the role of courts in democracy and the importance of jury service to maintaining the integrity of the courts.
Law Day Run - May 17, 2025
The Law Day Run in Salt Lake City is our annual 5K run that raises awareness and funds for civil legal aid. Law Day is an annual event sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA) on May 1st. Our 5k is a chance to kick off the celebration of the law and our legal partners.
We believe that everyone should have access to legal representation, regardless of their financial status. This race raises funds that will be used to provide free and low cost civil legal aid services to help vulnerable people protect their rights, access essential services, and live with dignity.
All proceeds will go to support free and low cost civil legal aid programs in Utah.
Law Day Luncheon
A celebration of the Utah State Bar and our Utah State Courts
Honoring our Law Related Education students, teachers, and volunteers.
Awards featured at the event include Young Lawyer of the Year, Law Firm of the Year, Pro Bono Publico awards to practitioners and firms, as well as the Liberty Bell Award.
2025 CLE Panel to include Past Utah State Bar Presidents and Current Bar Leaders to share their insights on the importance of civility, community building, and mentoring to our practice and our Bar in Utah. Our distinguished faculty will include John Adams, Judge Augustus Chin, Kim Cordova and other notable practitioners.
Please plan to join the event and/or to sponsor a table at the event for your firm, honorees, or for our students. Registration for an individual will be $50.
