MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT CURTIS M JENSEN
I am pleased to announce that the Pro Bono Commission has designated Elizabeth Elon Thompson as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year (to be presented Friday morning at the Fall Forum) and that Erin M. Stone is the Bar’s Hearts and Hands award recipient (to be presented this Thursday at the Utah Philanthropy Day luncheon).
At the Fall Forum, the Bar, in partnership with Beneplace, will be rolling out a new group benefits program that will provide access to national and local providers for discounted insurance, electronics, financial services, home and office goods, retail offerings, travel, and much more. This program can be accessed in the members section of our website at http://www.utahbar.org/members/ beginning this Thursday. Please review the offerings and to make recommendations for additional programs, goods, and services by using the nominations tool in the lower left. Also on Thursday, watch for a special email invitation from firstname.lastname@example.org allowing you to opt-in to receive limited-time and new offers, articles of interest such as financial wellness tips, and information on open enrollment. While testing the program, I found an intermediate SUV for a week in Salt Lake City for $136; the same car was $178 on budget.com without the program. I think you will be pleased with the depth of the discounts and the breadth of the offerings. There is no cost to you to use this, and the Bar is not being charged to offer the program to you.
