APPELLATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR APPOINTED

Salt Lake City, UT—Utah State Court Administrator Daniel J. Becker has announced the appointment of Diane Abegglen to the position of trial court executive for Utah’s Appellate Courts. Abegglen replaces Matty Branch who retired in April. The Appellate Courts include the Court of Appeals and the Utah Supreme Court.

Prior to joining the courts, Abegglen worked for United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Utah. She has held management positions in Salt Lake City and Phoenix, Arizona, with the American Arbitration Association. Abegglen has also worked as a law clerk with the Utah Supreme Court. She is a graduate of the University of Utah College of Law and has a graduate degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in education from Idaho State University.
As trial court executive, Abegglen is responsible for the administration of the Appellate Courts, which includes providing administrative support to justices and judges and managing support operations of professional and technical staff. In addition, the trial court executive is responsible for overseeing case management, court facilities, court security, and the court’s budget in the Appellate Courts.
