We Are: Attorney's Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. is a bar-related®
title insurance company. The Fund is the Utah lawyer's organization for
title insurance. The Fund is a Colorado corporation licensed to underwrite
title insurance in Utah. The Colorado Fund was incorporated October 11,
1960 and started doing business in April, 1962. In 1966, the Colorado
Fund joined with representatives of the Utah State Bar to qualify to do
business in Utah. On June 17, 1966, the Utah operation of the Fund began
offering title insurance through its Utah attorneys. On May 12, 1979,
the Fund became affiliated with Minnesota attorneys effectively creating
a tri-state operation. Since that time, the Minnesota operation has expanded
into North Dakota.
What We Do: The Fund provides the vehicle by which
Utah attorneys can issue title insurance through their law practices.
The Fund appoints Utah attorneys who are in good standing with the Utah
State Bar as its title agents. The Fund underwrites the title insurance
policies issued by its attorney agents. The Fund provides training,
as well as underwriting, closing, and title support.
Mission Statement: Preserve the role of the attorney
in real estate transactions, as well as provide sound and efficient
title protection and services to the public.
