Utah State Bar
Multidisciplinary (MDP) Task Force
Minutes
September 12, 2000
In attendance: Mike Blackburn – Co-chair, Cindy Crass, George Harris, Craig Omer, Mark Lehman & Toby Brown.
I Mike Blackburn welcomed members and proposed the following path forward: 1 – Make assignments to write sections of the report, 2 – Combine these sections
into a draft and circulate it to the full Task Force for comment, 3 – Meet again to dialogue on the full report and make edits.
Discussion followed. George Harris noted that in the history section we might address the presumption that the current rules are not necessary to protect
Independence of Judgment. He also noted that historically, the rules were set as economic protections from competition.
Toby added that the report should include a section addressing arguments against allowing MDPs.
