Lawyer Referral Service

The Utah State Bar also has a Lawyer Referral Service. The LRS is operated from the Utah Law and Justice Center in Salt Lake City, utilizing members of the staff of the Utah State Bar. A person seeking a referral to a lawyer may use a toll-free line maintained at the Bar office.

The person will be interviewed by a staff member and a referral will be made to a LRS panel member. Referrals are made on a rotating basis upon the agreement that the client pay a fee of $30 for an initial consultation which does not exceed one-half hour.

Telephone directories

Telephone directories allow attorneys to list their areas of practice. You will want to look in the area entitled Attorneys. Some categories in which you will find attorneys familiar with the family law would be "Adoption", "Divorce and Family", "Juvenile" and "Mediation".
