Web Services - BLOGS

Each section can now manage their content with the creation of a section or committee BLOG. Blogs are a web based content publication and syndication service that will allow sections and committees to take more direct control of their website content. Since the system contains a syndication services, section and committee members can be subscribed and receive announcements about updates to the website. A demonstration can be found at the Utah Minority Bar website located at http://www.utahbar.org/bars/umba/umblog/

Section Bylaws Template

Sections now have access to a model for creating section bylaws. A web based version of the document can be located at http://www.utahbar.org/sections/model_bylaws.html a PDF version can be downloaded here>>

Web Services

Each section and Committee of the Utah State Bar has a dedicated website that can be located by using the section and committee site index or the online directories. The sites are maintained by the Utah State Bar IT staff and follow Utah State Bar policy for terms of use. Requests for changes to the site are sent to webmaster@utahbar.org by a designated representative of the section or committee. Average turn around time for entering changes to a web site is one business day. Typical services that can be incorporated into a web site are:

  • Event Calendar
  • Directory of Members
  • Meeting Minutes
  • CLE materials
  • Links to Third Party Information

Email List Services

Each section and committee may request to have a dedicated email list service created for their membership. The email lists are for the use of the members of the section and committees and are secured against third party mailings. These lists are moderated by the Utah State Bar IT staff. To send an email to the list a section or committee may either have a designated representative or a member of the Utah State Bar IT staff create and then send the email to the address. This system will not reveal the email addresses of the member of the list and any replies will be sent to the message originator and not the members of the group.
