SECTION ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOPMENTS

The Real Property Section is one of the largest and most active sections of the Bar. Our section continues to sponsor high quality seminars and luncheons featuring speakers on real property and related topics. Luncheons are held at the Law and Justice Center on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in September, October, November, February and April, and we participate in the Fall Forum in November, New Lawyer CLE in January, . the Spring Convention in March, and the Annual Convention in July. (See Scheduled Events page).

One of the section officers serves on the Bar’s Governmental Relations Committee and provides input from our membership on legislation affecting real property. Perhaps the most significant of our section’s activities is the section’s annual meeting, which takes place in May. The Real Property Section annual meeting includes a section business meeting, election of a new section Treasurer (who will serve a four-year term in various roles, ending as Chair), and updates on recent Utah Supreme Court and Appellate Court cases and recent legislation affecting real property. Announcements of section luncheons are delivered to section members by email.

Please contact any of the section officers listed above if you have any comments or suggestions for the real property section or if you would like to be a presenter at one of our seminars. We would also appreciate suggestions on topics that are of interest to you.
