David R. Todd

David received his B.S. summa cum laude in ME in 1994 and his J.D. summa cum laude in 1997 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU. After law school, he clerked for a year with Judge Randall R. Rader of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has been at Workman Nydegger since 1998, where his practice concentrates on the summary judgment and appellate phases of patent litigation. David is also an adjunct professor at BYU, where he has been teaching classes on patent law for the last three years.

Clark S. Cheney
Parsons Behle & Latimer
Salt Lake City, Utah

Clark received his J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002. Previously he studied electrical engineering at the University of Utah, graduating in 1999. During law school Clark worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, where he was designated an expert in digital signal processing and the audio arts. He also worked as a full-time law clerk at Lyon & Lyon and later at Foley & Lardner. Clark recently completed a clerkship with Judge William C. Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, he joined Parsons Behle & Latimer in Salt Lake City.

Heather H. Major

Heather graduated from George Washington University Law School with honors in 2003. She received her B.A. cum laude in french from Utah State University in 1997 with a minor in chemistry. She recently completed an internship for Judge Arthur J. Gajarsa of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She is now a judicial law clerk for Judge Marian Blank Horn of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Matt C. Phillips

Portland, Oregon

Matt received his B.S.E.E. cum laude in 1991 and M.S.E.E and D.E.E in 1995. He received his J.D. cum laude in 2000 from Georgetown. During law school he worked as a patent examiner at the Patent Office and then as a patent agent at Dorsey & Whitney. After law school, he worked at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. He clerked for Judge Alan D. Lourie of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit during 2001-2003. Matt works in the Portland office of Stoel Rives LLP.
