MEETING MINUTES PRESENT: Rick Hummel, Marcie Keck, Lauren Barros, Steve Gunn, Al Pranno, Stewart Ralphs, Louise Knauer, Russ Minas, Angela Fonnesbeck, Comm. Blomquist, Doug Adair, Christina Miller. Approval of Minutes. The minutes from the September 2006 meeting were read and approved as drafted. Membership. Doug Adair was welcomed to the Executive Committee as filing the 2nd District slot, and was placed on the Legislative Relations Subcommittee. Comm. Thomas indicated his desire to become a member of the Executive Committee per Judge Hadley’s recommendation, and the EC voted unanimously to elect Comm. Thomas as an at-large member, in that the Commissioner slot is already filled by Commissioner Blomquist. Charlotte Meacham accepted her nomination and is welcomed to the EC, filling the 8th District about whether she would be interests in filling the vacant 6th, 7th and 8th District slot. Monthly CLE Luncheons. Dr. Cecilia Wainryb will speak at the October CLE luncheon. The November luncheon, previously moved to December 1, was again moved to December 8 so as not to conflict with other Bar and AAML events. Al agreed to take the lead in lining up speakers for the December 8 CLE. Subsequent luncheons will occur on January 19th, March 30 and April 20. All monthly CLE’s are no scheduled for simulcast. Annual Seminar. Nothing new to report at this time. The annual seminar is still on for Friday May 11, 2007 at Law & Justice Center and will be available by simulcast. Legislative Update. (Judges and Commissioners abstaining on all votes. The EC previously voted to not support the new in loco parentis draft bill in its present form. The EC voted to support the dating amendments to the Cohabitant Abuse Act. Upcoming bills for discussion will be the child support amendments, adoption of adult provisions, expedited parent time enforcement bill, and bills to allow for temporary separation order without filing for divorce, and a mandatory divorce orientation bill.
