as to how much time will be allotted to family law issues. Not much to
report yet on the annual seminar, which is not until May 2006. There was
discussion as to whether a paid speaker should be brought in. The annual
Christmas party is being planned. CW&B may host this year. The next
newsletter is almost ready for publication and web site development is
ongoing.
Legislation & Rules Committee
The Committee is up and running. A concern was raised as to the authority
of members of the Committee to speak on behalf of the Section or even
the EC. A name and purposes statement for the committee has been generated
(Below). Stuart reported on behalf of the committee the current legislative
action affecting the practice of family law. The EC authorized the Legislation
& Rules Committee to relay the EC (not the Section) position on legislative
issues by vote at meetings or via e-mail responses. If there is a minority
view, then the concerns of the minority shall also be stated.
