Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the April 2007 meeting were unanimously approved as drafted.

Annual Seminar Business Meeting: Steve Gunn reported that all went well and that all on executive committee members to continue on by vote of the membership.

Annual Convention: Our section did presentations on rights of non-traditional parents and the unwritten rules or practice before commissioners. Young Lawyer section sponsored a presentation on basic family law by Eric Johnson.

Summer Party: It went well but attendance was a little low. No changes suggested for next year.

Executive Committee Vice Chair: John Sheaffer was nominated and unanimously elected as vice chair/chair elect of the committee.

CLE Lunch and Annual Seminar dates: Lunch dates are scheduled for September 21, October 25, November 30, January 25, March 28, and April 25. Annual Seminar is scheduled for May 16, 2008. Committees: Committees will remain as currently constituted except that Doug Adair will now serve as the chair of the monthly CLE lunch committee and Louse Knauer steps down as chair but remains on the committee. Rob Parrish is assigned to the Fall Forum committee subject to his approval.

Financials: As of June 30 there is $15,955 in total assets. Discussion on how funds should be spent. Suggestions were: paid speakers, bankruptcy booklets, scholarships to law students.

Divorce Education for Children: Commissioner Blomquist reviewed the pilot program and requested that we send the $3000.00 that we previously approved to the Administrative Office of the Courts. Funds will be sent as promised.

Custody for person other than parent bill: Stewart reports that Lyle Hillyard has agreed to run the bill and that Dave Spatafore is one of the driving forces behind the proposed bill. Lyle wants bar support and Stewart will work with Lori Nelson, our bar liaison, to get Bar Approval. Bar wants our entire section to have input and a yes/no vote before they will give our approval. Discussed ways to accomplish that. Stewart will work with Lori and the Bar staff to see if he can make that happen.

No custody for sex offender bill: Stewart reports that Representative Kay L. McKiff is not in favor
