Need a Lawyer but can’t afford one? Think again. You may qualify for a reduced-rate attorney through the Modest Means Lawyer Referral Program.
How It Works
The Modest Means Lawyer Referral Program provides access to legal representation for people whose income is too high to qualify for free legal services, but too low to pay a lawyer’s standard rate. In order to qualify you must fall below the income guidelines.
There is a $25 dollar fee associated with a referral request. Once the application and fee are received you will be given a referral to an attorney that has agreed to discount their rates according to your income. Attorneys for this program will charge depending on your income either up to $50 an hour or up to $75 an hour. You will need to discuss with the attorney what the exact fees will be and what arrangements are available for payment. Please note that an attorney may verify your income and assets through their intake process to confirm that you qualify for the program.
