Definition of Regular Certificate of Good Standing
The regular Certificate of Good Standing includes the full name of the licensed lawyer (as noted in the USB database), date of admission, current status (active or inactive), and a statement that no public discipline has been taken against the lawyer if the statement is applicable. Please note that Certificates of Good Standing CANNOT be issued to a member who has been suspended for non-payment of fees, MCLE noncompliance or any other reason, is disbarred or has resigned with discipline pending.
Definition of Specialized Certificate of Good Standing
Some government entities or employers require “specialized” Certificates of Good Standing with information in addition to that contained in a regular certificate such as more specific admission information, discipline history and license status history. Please include any explanatory letters or forms with your request and/or check with the entity so that we can provide the necessary additional information.
Certificate of Good Standing for Admission to Other Bars

There is a $30 fee for each certificate requested. Please include the lawyer’s Utah State Bar number to ensure the certificate is for the correct lawyer.
