Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities include review and assessment of all new suits/claims filed and assignment and coordination of case handling both in-house and with outside counsel in various states, provinces and countries throughout the world; coordination of discovery responses to include gathering, analyzing, organizing and preparing legal documents, reports and other information sent to local counsel; research and analysis of law sources, such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles; preparation and review of legal agreements with outside vendors and other corporations. Maintain minutes for all board meetings, including contact with all board members on various corporate issues. Liaison with insurance broker and excess carrier regarding claims in excess of SIR. Scheduling of inspections, depositions, testimony, trial dates, etc., and coordination of travel for individuals within legal department for same. Coordinator and company contact for legal database system. Position also requires knowledge of the techniques of receiving callers, giving information, and explaining instructions and guidelines. Must have the ability to maintain calm professionalism at all times. Must have the ability to compose and type routine correspondence, as well as possess a good knowledge of personal computers, hardware, software, and related applications.
Oversee and assign work to various legal clerks within the department.

Must have significant product liability experience as well as significant and recent experience with transactions and corporate formalities. Experience in intellectual property filing is a plus. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; have excellent computer and database skills; and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Will need to have a paralegal certificate or four-year undergraduate degree paralegal and three years’ experience working in a law firm or corporation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
