My practice is in the areas of Family Law. I have done numerous divorces,
annulments, modifications of decrees of divorce, orders for paternity
issues, temporary orders, legal separations, and step-parent adoptions.
You will find that I return telephone calls the same day, or if not,
the next day. If you call and cannot speak directly to me, and leave
a message, if I have not returned your telephone call promptly, I have
found on occasion that the wrong number was left on my answering machine.
Please call again. I do not charge for telephone calls, as I like my
clients to feel free to call if they have any concerns, and to let
me know immediately of any problems.
The first consultation is free, unless you hire me, and then I do
charge for my time. I do accept VISA and MasterCard, cash or checks
for retainers and payments. Once a retainer has been paid, I can make
arrangements for monthly payments on the unpaid balance, if necessary.
I do give flat rate fees for uncontested matters.
I have practiced for nineteen years, and I practice exclusively in
the area of Family Law. I keep up on the legislative changes in Family
Law, and attend yearly the Family Law Seminar. I am a solo practitioner
and you will deal directly with me, and not a paralegal. I received
my Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah in 1989. I also
have a Masters degree in counseling from Brigham Young University,
and have a Bachelor's of Science in education from the University
of Utah.
I have received numerous referrals from satisfied clients, and even
on occasion from the opposing party or opposing counsel. I am aggressive,
but also reasonable, and am able to settle most of my cases without
a final trial.
Please call (801) 446-4700 for an appointment. My email address is
info@scoltonatty.com, and
my web site is www.scoltonatty.com.
