Laura Hansen-Pelcastre’s St. George law office is focused exclusively on Immigration and Social Security Law Matters. Laura handles all types of immigration cases including family petitions, immigrant and non-immigrant visas of all types, employment cases, deportation defense work, and refugee work.

Laura is also the director of the Victim Immigrant Project of Southern Utah which provides free and discounted legal services to immigrant survivors of domestic violence and violent crime. This project helps those who are in need of assistance obtain legal permanent residence, work permits and other necessities. This project utilizes the VAWA act; T and U visas to accomplish its’ objectives.

Laura is also an attorney for Dabney & Dabney who focus exclusively on Social Security Cases. Laura has represented many individuals before Administrative Law Judges in both Southern Utah and Nevada.
Laura graduated sum laude from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Political Science and a B.S. in Psychology. She attended Brigham Young University for law school and spent a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary studying International Law.

Laura is licensed to practice law in Utah before all Utah state courts, including the Utah Supreme Court, and the Federal District Court for the District of Utah. She is also admitted to practice before the Executive Office for Immigration Review and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Laura also practices Immigration and Social Security law in other states and jurisdictions. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA), the Utah Trial Lawyers Association (UTLA), the National Organization of Social Security Representatives (NOSSCR) and the Women Lawyer’s of Utah (WLU).

Laura is married to an immigrant who is from Central Mexico and has first hand knowledge about the difficulties and complexities involved in immigration cases. She is also able to converse in Spanish (she’s learning). She enjoys many hobbies including: gardening, rock climbing, Latin dancing and cooking.
