and attended Weber State University where he majored in political science.
He served in the U. S. Army Special Forces, serving in Vietnam for 15
months, attaining the rank of captain. After returning from Vietnam
in 1969 he completed his college training and attended law school at
the University of Utah, graduating in 1972 with a J. D. degree.
Mr. Havas has worked as a public defender with the Weber County Public
Defenders office and has been in private practice representing injured
parties since 1972. He is admitted in all State and Federal Courts in
Utah and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

of America, the American Bar Association, the Utah Trial Lawyers Association,
the National Employees Lawyers Association and the Utah Employees Lawyers
Association.
Mr. Havas concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury
and employee’s law. He firmly believes in fairness and feels that
the little person needs all the help that he or she can get. He believes
that in personal injury cases the insurance companies are unfair in
their assessment of injuries and will do everything possible to get
out of having to pay what is the victim's just right to compensation.
Likewise, in employment law he feels that employers in many cases take
unfair advantage of its employees. Many employers view employees as
a disposable asset, which is not right.
Havas is married to Sandy and they have four grown children and thirteen
grandchildren. His hobbies are snow skiing, biking and hiking and helping
people get justice.
