David W. Slaughter, Snow Christensen & Martineau
Mr. Slaughter has a national practice centering in contract formation as well as business and construction litigation and dispute resolution. He has represented sureties in contractor bond disputes and related matters for over two decades and is a co-founder of the Western States Surety Conference. He currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Surety and Fidelity Law Committee of ABA/TIPS. He has lectured before local and national professional organizations and has authored several papers dealing with construction, surety law, and other topics. He is a panel arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association on construction and complex commercial disputes and is in demand as a mediator in such disputes, as well.
Mr. Slaughter also consults with business entities, including technology clients, through issues of business formation, mergers and acquisitions, and in structuring and negotiating domestic and international strategic alliances. He represents several high-tech clients in contracting and licensing matters and in structuring relationships with resellers, OEMs, and other distribution channels.

Representative Cases:
Reliance Insurance v. Mast Construction: Represented contractor surety in federal court enforcement of indemnity obligations of contractor and individual indemnitors, including tracing funds fraudulently diverted through fictitious entities and multiple bank accounts.
Reliance Insurance v. First Security Bank: Represented surety in action, including two successful appeals to federal appellate court, against bank for releasing funds subject to a restraining order against bank customer and bond indemnitor.
Gang-Nail Components, etc. v. Prom Utah, et al.: Defended terminated general contractor in claims by project owner and against multiple subcontractors in claims of defective and deficient construction relating to a multimillion-dollar multi-unit apartment complex.
CRP, Inc. v. Flex Foot, Inc.: Represented licensee in patent infringement lawsuit and related claims by patent holder.
