Steven G. Johnson
Steven G. Johnson is a 1977 graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law
School and a 1974 graduate from Brigham Young University. Currently
practicing in Highland, Utah, he is a member of the Utah and California
Bars. He has served as an arbitrator and mediator for the American
Arbitration Association and as an arbitrator for the Better Business
Bureau.
Mr. Johnson has practiced in several different situations,
including as a solo practitioner, a shareholder in a Salt Lake City
law firm, and as general counsel of a food wholesaler which markets
products throughout the United States and internationally. His experience
and expertise has taken him to Ethiopia and Eritrea on the African
Horn where he taught government workers and cooperative leaders how
to organize and manage farmer cooperatives, and how to prepare appropriate
documents to assist them in their businesses.
Mr. Johnson has an extensive
record of service to the Bar, having served as Associate Editor of
the Utah Bar Journal and as a member of the Bar’s Government
Relations Committee. He has served as an officer (including as Section
Chair) of the Corporate Counsel Section and as a member of the Executive
Committee (including as Section Chair) of the Dispute Resolution
Committee of the Bar.
He currently is a Trustee of the MCLE Board,
serves as a member of the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee
on the Rules of Professional Conduct, and chairs the Bar’s
Fee Dispute Resolution Committee.
Mr. Johnson and his wife Jacqueline
are the parents of eleven children.
