Experience
Brad Jacobsen’s practice emphasizes mergers and acquisition
transactions as well as federal and state securities laws compliance. Mr.
Jacobsen’s practice also involves the formation and financing
of start-up businesses as well as real estate matters. Mr.
Jacobsen has counseled numerous clients on public and private
securities offerings, merger and acquisition transactions and
credit and corporate finance transactions.
Mr. Jacobsen was listed as one of the leading corporate and
M&A lawyers in the United States in Chambers & Partners'
2006 and 2007 issues of America's Leading Business Lawyers and
as a 2007 and 2008 Utah Legal Elite by Utah Business.
Mr. Jacobsen is a partner in the Commercial Law and Securities
practice group in HRO’s Salt Lake City office. Prior
to joining HRO in 2002, he worked in the Business & Technology
Group at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP in Boulder, Colorado;
Dow, Lohnes & Albertson PLLC in Washington, DC; and Cadwalader
Wickersham & Taft in New York, New York.

limited liability company, for approximately $5.5 million in
October 2004;
- Represented Machinery & Hardware Supply, Inc., a Utah
corporation, in its sale to Louis & Company in October
2004;
- Represented Equity Oil Company (Nasdaq: EQTY), a Colorado
corporation, in its merger with and into Whiting Petroleum
Corporation (NYSE: WLL), valued at approximately $70 million
in July 2004.
