The Salt Lake Buddhist Temple will hold its annual Obon Dance Festival on Saturday, July 11, 2009. OBON is a traditional event to honor and express gratitude to the spirits of our ancestors. The Festival features Japanese food served from 1:00 p.m. Japanese items will be for sale, and chapel tours are held from 2:00 to 7:00. The evening will culminate with a Taiko Drum Exhibition at 7:15 p.m. with Obon Street Dancing at 8:00. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Obon Dance practice is from June 29 - July 3 and July 6-8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple and the public is welcome.

Legal Counsel

Zions Bancorporation, a bank holding company for 8 regional banks located in 10 western states, has an immediate opening for an in-house attorney in its corporate legal department. This position will be located at the headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. Candidates must have a very strong background in at least one and preferably several of the following areas: commercial lending, construction lending, UCC collateral, real estate collateral, loan workouts, retail branch operations and payment systems such as credit cards and ACH.

Zions in-house counsel are responsible for:

* Representing and rendering legal advice to Zions' multi-state banking and other affiliates regarding issues affecting operations such as retail banking, lending, trust, investments, loan documentation, employment, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, bankruptcy, collateral foreclosures, collections, and contracts.

* Drafting and negotiating agreements, drafting pleadings, responding to internal and external legal requests and demands, performing legal research, representing company's interests at legal proceedings, and employing and overseeing work performed by outside attorneys.

* Exercising legal judgment in matters with potentially significant financial and legal exposure.

* Law Degree

* 4+ years direct experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial lending, construction lending, UCC collateral, real estate collateral, loan workouts, retail branch operations and payment systems such as credit cards and ACH. 5 + years preferred.

* Experience representing financial institutions.

* Experience with contract drafting and negotiation (particularly in loan documentation), trusts, federal regulations and/or bankruptcy is a plus.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to exercise sound legal judgment with minimal supervision regarding matters with potentially significant financial and legal implications.

* Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
