SAVE THE DATE for the Juneteenth and Loving Day picnic. This year, MLC has the central pavilion in Sugar House Park from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Juneteenth celebrates passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, ending slavery. Loving Day celebrates the Loving v. Virginia decision, which ended state bans on interracial marriage. Last year’s inaugural picnic was a great fun and about 150 people attended (managing to find their way to a remote section of Mill Creek Canyon).
