Judge Raymond Uno receives National ABA Award

Judge Raymond S. Uno (Ret.) 2005 Spirit of Excellence Award Recipient

This year, the ABA's Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession presented the 2005 Spirit of Excellence Inspiration Award to Judge Raymond S. Uno.
It was noted that Judge Uno "has demonstrated to the present generation of minority lawyers that not only is it possible to succeed, but that once having achieved an elevated status, it is the responsibility of the minority attorney to then be supportive of others who share the same dream as well as the communities from which we come."

The American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession held its Tenth Annual Spirit of Excellence Awards Luncheon on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.

The Honorable Raymond S. Uno (retired from the Third District Judicial Court, State of Utah), the first president of UMBA, received the Spirit of Excellence Inspiration Award. Judge Uno is truly deserving of this award as he is an inspiration to us all.
