Thank you to those in the legal community who participated in the Legal Assistant Division/Legal Assistant Association of Utah joint “Utah Legal Community Blood Drive,” held
statewide October 16 through October 20. As of the writing of this message, we have not yet received the final tallies from the donor centers. Although we did not reach the
goals set by the American Red Cross, with participation at donor centers in Ogden, Salt Lake City, Provo and St. George, our preliminary indication is that the response was
great (especially in the St. George area). Thank you to those who joined us in giving life!
The Legal Assistant Division is currently involved in many projects. The most important of those projects is our membership renewal process. We appreciate the patience of our
renewing members and new members as we work with the Utah State Bar to assign Bar numbers and issue membership cards. We hope to have these processes completed by the time
this message is published.
The Legal Assistant Division Board is currently working on a membership directory, a Job Bank, and several upcoming education events for our membership. In addition, several
Board members are working with the Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the Utah Minority Bar Association on projects related to those organizations.
Again, thank you to our membership for your participation and support. The Legal Assistant Division has come a long way since its creation, and hopes to continue to expand both
its influence in the legal community and its benefits to our membership.
