I am very proud of the incredible work Utah lawyers provide to the Utah Bar Association. Thousands of hours a year are generously given by Lawyers wanting to make a difference through their work with our Association.
Our Bar Association has administrators that work hard for all Utah lawyers. They go way out of their way to assist Utah lawyers through a myriad of programs designed to help lawyers as we go through the different stages of our practice.
Our Bar Association is and should be a great tool for teaching young lawyers the craft of practicing law. Our Association offers support programs for practitioners from cooperative health insurance to programs that aid clients directly such as the Pro Bono Initiative.
If allowed to serve, I am hopeful I could help foster continued strong relationships with the Utah Legislature. It could be argued the Utah Legislature has too few lawyers in its ranks. The more support our Association can offer to the Legislative branch the better.
The on-going cost of our dues is always an issue for us. It costs a lot to run a Bar Association. We get a lot of bang for our buck from our dues. I am hopeful I could work to keep dues down while keeping program quality and diversity at the highest level possible.
I have been in the active practice of law for thirty one years. I have served on many different Bar Association committees and I have been involved in different Bar programs. I believe I could be helpful and productive to our membership if elected.
I request your support and ask that you give me your vote in the upcoming election.
